like a starlet
peonies bow lavishly
in the limelight
like a starlet
serving admirers
with her beauty
peonies bow lavishly
soaking up praise
humility tossed aside
in the limelight
even with wilted petals
beauty in God’s eyes

They are so beautiful! I wish we had some for every month of summer.

A beautiful collection of haiku! I love the bright happy beginning and it’s bittersweet end that offer such a lovely message. For aren’t we all a bit wilted though still beautiful in God’s eyes?
