I wrote this as an extra L is for Leave and interestingly, there are many meanings…

totally absorbed
child twirls his shoelaces
shouts “leave me alone”
shouts “leave me alone”
trying for the third time
sighing – mommy smiles
****
mix of leaves
gold, amber and red
carpets the front lawn
****
GrandMaman squints
shoulders hunched over
reading my tea leaves
reading my tea leaves
heart glows with hope
promise of a child
promise of a child
reality blossoms one day
takes a leave of absence
takes a leave of absence
unknown return to work date
savouring her new role
