Bitter cold greets her as steps out to catch her bus. Branches lay on the lawn that had snapped off the tree by the patio. It was as if Mother Nature was no longer weeping but in a state of rage.
biting wind
swirls into a raised fist
grieves in fury

A little bit about moi:
I am a mom, a nana, a sister, a woman, a friend, a human being…a youth counsellor, Family Life Educator.
I have been working in the helping profession for over 25 years and volunteered in various capacities from youths to seniors.
Tournesol is my nom de plume for haiku and other Japanese form poetry here at Tournesoldansunjardin https://cheryllynnroberts.wordpress.com I hope you enjoy reading through my daily waka.
I also have another blog "Stop the Stigma" where I may stand on my soapbox now and then and hope it will become a place to drop in and share or comment on issues important to you. In that vein this could be a great way to learn from each other.

for whom is nature grieving? Where do I tender my condolences to end its raging? Great idea for a poem 🙂

it was mild on the weekend, during the funeral and Mother Nature came back with a vengeance today…brrrrrr!

cold and snowy here though it’s not supposed to amount to too much. Mother nature has been taking it out on us all. I really want to blame one of our presidential candidates; there is one man running who pisses everyone off, Mother Nature included!

Yep, there is one running that we cringe here since we are impacted by the health of our neighbours. Well, I got my cleats back on my boots…just in case with too many ice spots I don`t see at night.

More snow tonight here and points north. I think the blizzard is leaving you guys north of the border in peace.

I hope not. I know it’s going to be cold this weekend here, bitterly cold.

About three kilometres ahead of me on the highway last week there were cars in ditches on both sides of the highway, the part where there IS a sign that it gets icy in the hilly curvy part.

there are always cars in ditches when the weather gets funny–rain, snow, sun glare–they all do it.
