frail and broken
trace of plum blossoms linger
on his fingers

frail and broken
during winter’s slumber
waiting to heal

trace of plum blossoms linger
now and forever
their first love

on his fingers
only an illusion
scent of her shampoo

  1. I imagine this when I think of my one older friend who first lost his wife to dementia and then to the Angel of Death… He then had a wonderful woman companion for a bit…but she too ‘left’ too soon. I know his children care for him and he has many friends but I can just see him in this verse in his reverie of dreams…

(Visit when you can – enjoy your ‘net’ time. Hugs and happy thoughts for you and yours always.
Best this holiday season and for the New Year too!)
