(troiku)

trace of autumn
butterfly and bumble bee
lingering

trace of autumn
blossoms resisting
summer’s end

butterfly and bumble bee
hold a secret
the other side

lingering
season closing in
shorter days

soft breeze whistles
golden rays warm my face
life remembered

so much love
mother fed me every day
abundance overflowed
left me plenty
to feed an army

on this muddy path
I walk alone
winter calls me

The river trail (troiku – haiga)

next bike path autumn

Troiku

along the river
autumn colours adorn
riverside path

along the river
water turning bluish grey
frigid ripples

autumn colours adorn
public parks and highways
nature’s last show

riverside path
bike trail runs along the keys
season’s last ride

Gazing at the blood moon turning red during the lunar eclipse, she was mesmerized to see how the sun reflected the colours of our earth, such a rich red-brown beauty in the sky.

hues of reds fall silently –

Wings of love (Troiku)

The challenge here is to write a troiku using a haiku, Chèvrefeuille has chosen for us written by Basho.

butterflies and birds
restlessly they rise up
a cloud of flowers

© Basho (Tr. Jane Reichhold)

butterflies and birds
wrestle cozy idleness – or,
nature’s bounty

restlessly they rise up
unfurled wings rousing wafts,
filled with grace

a cloud of flowers
beckon to be suckled
swell of sweet nectar

September 27th Supermoon Lunar Eclipse

(haiku)
exudes perfection
I had nothing to capture
your glowing presence

only deity
manifests divine beauty
of this calibre

forever
etched in my memory,
divine excellence

Full Moon May 14th 2014 was a sight for sore eyes. I tried to take a photo…okay, I took many but nothing, just nothing rendered its beauty.

Update: September 28, 2015 after seeing the super blood moon and lunar eclipse last night, I have to say I was thrilled beyond words…so will use this poem to share my experience last night as well as a photo I took with my I-phone.
